The Deckorators Pro Plug Fastening System conceals top-fixed screws with plugs matched to the surface of Deckorators decking. It provides a cleaner finish on stairs, perimeter boards, picture frames and replacement boards where a standard hidden fastener cannot be used.

Not every part of a deck can be fixed through a side groove. The Pro Plug system provides a concealed top-fixing solution for the areas that still require a screw through the face of the board.

The installation tool sets each screw to the correct depth before a matching plug is fitted over the screw head. Once installed correctly, the plug blends into the deck-board surface and avoids the distraction of an exposed fixing.

  • Product type: concealed face-fixing system for composite decking
  • Application: top fixing through Deckorators deck boards
  • Finish: colour-matched plug conceals the screw head
  • Suitable locations: stairs, picture frames, perimeter boards and deck-board replacements
  • Colour selection: match the plug to the Deckorators decking colour
  • Screws: sold separately
  • Installation: use the compatible Pro Plug setting tool, plugs and approved screws as a complete system

Use the Pro Plug system where Deckorators boards must be fixed through the top but a visible screw head would interrupt the finished deck surface. Typical locations include stair treads, perimeter and picture-frame boards, breaker boards and replacement boards that cannot be installed with hidden clips.

Use Stowaway Hidden Fasteners for standard grooved boards across the main deck area. This combination keeps most fixings below the surface and provides concealed top fixing where the deck layout requires it.

Mark the fixing position and predrill the board with the drill size specified by Deckorators. Drive the compatible screw with the Pro Plug setting tool so the head finishes at the correct depth without scratching or crushing the board surface.

Align the grain and colour of the matching plug with the surrounding board, then tap it into position until it sits flush. Install the plug soon after inserting the screw to prevent water, dust or debris from collecting in the fixing hole.

Follow the current Deckorators Pro Plug installation guide for fixing positions, edge distances, screw compatibility and tool settings.
